How often should my AC actually be serviced?
Twice a year, ideally once in spring and once in fall. Regular tune-ups catch worn parts and dirty coils before they turn into a breakdown in the middle of a heat wave.
Why does changing the filter matter so much?
A clogged filter restricts airflow, forces your system to work harder, raises your energy bill, and lets more dust and allergens circulate through your home. Most homes need a filter change every 1-3 months.
What thermostat temperature should I use?
In South Florida, 75-78°F is a comfortable, efficient summer setting. Avoid dropping it more than a few degrees at once — big swings make your system work harder without cooling the house any faster.
How do I know if my AC unit is the right size for my home?
A unit that's too big or too small for your space both cause problems — short-cycling, poor humidity control, higher bills. Correct sizing comes from a load calculation, not a guess. We check this as part of any installation quote.
My system is a few years old — could it still be under warranty?
Possibly. Manufacturer warranties are usually 5-10 years on parts depending on brand and registration. Send us the model and serial number from the unit's label and we'll help you check.
What's actually included in a maintenance visit?
Coil cleaning, filter check, refrigerant level check, electrical connections, drain line, and a full system test — the same checklist every time, with straight answers about anything we find.
